There are different symptoms of yeast infection that people
should be aware of. You have probably heard of this disease and you might be aware that the signs of this
disease are usually not deadly, but they can be unbearable and frustrating. And, this can be severe to some
people who experiences chronic types of this disease. Chronic type usually has the majority of the indications.
This disease can be acute or chronic. If chronic shows the
majority of symptoms of yeast infection, acute is when the disease is treated successfully upon the
acknowledgment of the indications. It is chronic when the disease is recurring consistently even after
treatment and indications change over time making this disease very difficult to treat.
But, how do people, women in particular, know when they
actually have the disease? Common indications of this disease are itching around the genital area; vaginal
discharge comes out white and possibly thick in texture, a slight burning sensation when urinating, redness or
swelling on the skin, vaginal irritation and pain during sexual intercourse.
Some women may also show different symptoms of yeast
infection from other women. Some 20% of women may experience having a thick discharge that looks like cottage
cheese with the Candida albicans. And, their presence can cause the starchy odor to the discharge. Some can
also have white to a more yellow tinge to their discharge. But, not everyone can experience discharge, so the
easiest way to know if a woman has this disease is if she itches in and around her vagina. Itchiness can also
be accompanied by a burning sensation and her vulvar area can be red and swollen.
Knowing the symptoms of yeast infection will allow you to
determine if you really have the disease. Upon the knowledge that you have it, you can best look for a
treatment early on before it becomes chronic and difficult to eliminate. People must be aware that different
vaginal infections can have very similar indications. Thus if a woman is experiencing this for the first time
and is unsure about a proper course of treatment, then she should definitely see her doctor to get proper
diagnosis.
The overgrowth of an organism called Candida albicans
usually leads to this disease. Though in small numbers, this organism won't cause vaginal infections. But,
occasionally a change in their environment gives this organism a chance to really multiply and grow out of
control. Knowing the symptoms of yeast infection will allow you to easily control the overgrowths with
medications designed to kill Candida albicans.
Treatments of this disease varied from pills and vaginal
creams. And, these medications may need to be taken anywhere from one dose to a week long course of medication.
In addition, other treatments are prescribed by a doctor and are available over the counter. The earlier you
know about the disease, the easier it would be to cure the disease. Thus, women should be aware of the symptoms
of yeast infection.
